Allens Pond needed engaging forms that would help attract people and make the process of donating / sponsoring the osprey more easily approachable. The forms had to be interesting and eye catching at first glance but also able to fit in a large amount of information in a small area.
After speaking to the client and discussing what they wanted it became clear that they wanted something that would grab the attention of people. It should also be cheap and reasonable to print. Furthermore, the information that it needed to display for non-negotiable. All the information was important. This created another issue of legibility. Many of the people that would see this would be older so the size of the type had to be taken into account. To maximize on space while also keeping the forms easy to print a QR code was used. Overall, there were many challenges and restraints that had to be considered when designing the forms.
To determine the size of the typeface I had to experiment with sizes and research standards that would be legible to older clients. It was crucial to fit all the information while also maintaining a large enough typface. To give a perspective, the forms were 8.5in x 5.5in.
